  1. 1. Flash MicroPython

    Hold the BOOTSEL button while plugging the Pico W into USB, then:

    Can't flash from the browser?

    Grab the firmware yourself from the official MicroPython download page (pinned version for this install: ), then drag the .uf2 onto the RPI-RP2 drive that appears. The board reboots on its own.

    On Windows, USB flashing needs a WinUSB driver bound to the board's boot interface, which isn't installed by default — if Flash via USB picks the device but then does nothing, use the drag-and-drop method above instead (no driver needed).
