Flash & install from your browser
Flash MicroPython and install the controller onto a Raspberry Pi Pico W straight from this page. No tools to install.

1. Flash MicroPython
Hold the BOOTSEL button while plugging the Pico W into USB, then:

Grab the firmware yourself from the official MicroPython download page (pinned version for this install: …), then drag the
.uf2onto theRPI-RP2drive that appears. The board reboots on its own.On Windows, USB flashing needs a WinUSB driver bound to the board's boot interface, which isn't installed by default — if Flash via USB picks the device but then does nothing, use the drag-and-drop method above instead (no driver needed).

Wait for the board to reboot after flashing, then connect to its serial port.
